Yala National Park, the hunt for Leopards….

Posted: February 11, 2013 in Asia, Sri Lanka

After a coll couple of days in the hill country, we jumped in a car and headed for Tissamahara, a small town in the south-east of Sri Lanka, and a jumping off point for safaris in to Yala National Park.  The park is famous for having one of the highest concentrations of leopards in the world, and Mirella and I were keen to find the big cat!

The drive from Ella was uneventful, a couple of nice sights along the way including a waterfall and a lake.
